'Newsies' Becomes 'King of New York' on Opening Night

their opening night on Broadway, March 29. Despite the successful run of the Alan Menken (music), Jack Feldman (lyrics), and Harvey Fierstein (book) musical at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse, no one suspected (although many hoped) a Broadway transfer was a possibility. But, fueled by the explosive high-energy Christopher Gattelli choreography, Broadway came a-calling. The show was extended through Aug. 19 even before previews were completed, showing that fans of the 1992 cult film are chomping at the bit to see the stage adaptation.

On what I see. I can tell Kara Lindsay was about to get emotional in happier way. She deserves it. All of them do. They made it big to Broadway and the show itself. I'm surprised that most of these actors/dancers was their first Broadway debut in Newsies. And look at THEY ARE TRULY KING OF NEW YORK. Even till this day they are and as well as the Broadway musical itself. I'm proud they made it big for their first time. And I'm glad to have a chance to see the musical and learning the actors of their experiences behind the show. Even though this was in 2012. I still want to congratulate to them on their big break on Broadway. CONGRATS NEWSIES!!! You still deserves the standing ovation like you always do. I'm very proud and happy of all this.

THESE GUYS ARE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, I FEEL LIKE IT SHOULD BE MADE A LAW THAT EVERYONE MUST SEE NEWSIES ON BROADWAY ATLEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME.

Saw the show this weekend and was absolutely blown away and I can't think about anything but seeing it again (as well as being best friends with these incredible people) and being devastated that I probably won't and kind of sad because I can't imagine it ever being as phenomenal a second time around (especially if any of the cast changes). This show is brilliant and I can't praise it enough
