I have the old all Stainless Steel Vitamix from 25 years ago still works but needs new lid gasket. I used to make my soup and let the machine blend then cook in microwave. I felt it saved the motor and the noise as well.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup is still my grandson's favorite and he's 18 now. We used to put cherry tomatoes and chicken bouillion with salt pepeper, celery and onion in a container and microwave for 2-3 minutes and then pulse them with a hand held blender.

When we were kids my Mother made us tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwiches using the Gov't. cheese they used to give out. And don't forget crumbling the Ritz crackers in the soup. Yummm. My wife won't touch tomato soup even though she eats tomato's ?

You beat me at trying soup! I have a Blendtec that I've had for over a year and all I've made so far is shakes and smoothies. Now, I'm going to have to try soup in it soon.

Nice blender ! 🙂 but one big flaw, plastic..sigh much to hard to keep clean from food stains and odor. Much prefer glass blenders, is that an option for this one?
