After Elizabeth's death he was so devastated that he spent most of his time in his office,and looking at the Fredbear plushie with extreme sorry that his son would follow the same tragic outcome,which he was right,after the bite William was angry with Michael,and wanted to kill him but he didn't and let him go,and disowned him shortly after,who will never forgive him for killing Evan.

my theories how William became spring trap, burn trap, and scrap trap.
May 1993: William went back to Freddy Faz bears pizzeria to destroy the souls but ended up getting chased and spring locked in a spring bonnie suit a year after his oldest son mike was fired in 1992 and 2 years before Michael was scooped in 1995.

July 2023: a worker of the Faz bear entertainment company found an animatronic containing a 30-year-old corpse inside of the suit and used for Freddy's fright atraction.

October 2023: the animatronic now called spring trap came to life and terrorized guests. Michael Afton saw in the news that his father is alive as spring trap. Michael went to the fright attraction and faced his father and escaped the burning attraction.

July 2024: William becomes scrap trap and went to a pizzeria opened by the new guys taking over Faz bear entertainment. he was destroyed by the animatronics, Michael, and henry and had their souls released.

august 2040: William is now Burn trap and starts terrorizing Gregory and Freddy but gets trapped in the rubble after Gregory and Freddy escaped.
