Elegoo Jupiter SE resin 3D printer HONEST review

Показать описание
If your resin print needs are on the massive side, then you may want to take a look at the Elegoo Jupiter SE. Think of it as the original Jupiter put on a diet, slimmed down and, most importantly, made more affordable. Here I take a look at the latest Large printer from Elegoo and ask if it's worth it.

@vogman, you will notice that the resin pump has holes for two screws, and there are corresponding threaded holes in the metal plate of the machine where it mounts.

thats for another good review, and i do have to agree: Flip Top lids are something that absolutely should be 'the standard' for resin printers, and i wish to see more of them

Love this kind of reviews, honest, no fanboying, and love the graphics about getting the lid off 🙂

great review, ive got the se and its a good printer i don't mind the top myself, as its workable, and on a side note the pump sews to the printer with two sews but elegoo dont tell you take or the sews you need to use

I was looking into this, but a 6k screen on a 13inch build suface is dissapointing. The resin pump is another point of failure and would of rather the original resin fill from the original Jupiter, and that lid is very silly with the size of the printer. It is just annoying, because this could of been the printer I went with as I am looking at the larger build plate printers, but I think at this point I would be better off buying 2 -3 Elegoo Saturn 2's. Great review as always @VogMan

I bought this printer.this is my very first printer and just jumped in the deep end.im happy with it.the lid does knock off the pump as you said and can be problematic but I only plug it in when I need the vat drained.i was thinking of using that USB port to plug in 2 small adjustable heating pads that I can wrap around the vat i do have an adhesion issue and i thing its the temperature.i have a small closet outside in the patio that I have the printer in and gets nippy here in the evening in california.my first print is luke skywalker holding baby grogu.the prints came out amazing.gonna print the base the weekend.its 1/6th scale.i did get the wham bam flex plate and had to bring the first layer exposure time to 50.i been slicing with chitubox.i tried lychee but noticed my print time almost double after slicing.dont know what that's about.anyway thanks for the video and don't be afraid to use a little profanity. You have a great accent and it would be hilarious to here you drop a few F bombs after dropping the resin bottle.

missing the simple but outstanding innovation of the anycubic m3 max. a split front opening lid

Agreed! A heater, not a pump or filter.... And, it seems we're back to side-loading usb and wireless is absent?

How does this compare to the M3 Max in terms of speed? I love the Max but it's really slow.

GREAT REVIEW! Love the honest opinion and fully agree wit hthe pro's and cons. I too do not understand why they still don't have a heating system, because that results in more stable and higher quality prints. (I use a heating "cable" around the vat. One of those you can use for pre liquor fermentation, works great but i'd love to see something intergrated)

I have this printer and for large scale prints, big models and model bases etc its fantastic. If I want something small and ultra detailed I'll use my 12/16k printers

Hmm, this vs an Anycubic M3 max which has a slightly bigger build plate? Tough choice for me at least.
I still haven't bought a larger format resin printer even though I'd love to. ( You know, wants vs needs)
Thanks for your usual no-BS review.

If they upgrade the screen it will be very interesting. I keep waiting with buying a new printer as I'm afraid one of them will finally up the resolution on the big printers but still nothing..

I´ve bought the Jupiter because of the upgradable parts in the future and here I am. Seeing an "upgraded" version of the printer itself. That was my last Elegoo printer, for sure.

hello, thanks for your review. I wonder if the auto resin pumping module works with non-elegoo resin bottle? im using anycubic bottle and the resin pump cant do its job. (maybe there is air leakage)

I was quite excited when I heard about the SE. But only having one arm, that lid is a deal breaker for me. I find the lids on the mars a pain (I ended up adding a knob on the top) on the XE it would make it near impossible to remove safely

i have to say while i had no interest in ever getting an mSLA printer rather than a DLP one the low price for this big a size of printer is quite tempting

12 and 14k screens are medium factor, these companies don't make the LCDs so they can't really do anything about the fact that there are no sub 43um large LCDs. This year there is rumoured to be large high res LCD though so hopefully they will keep to their promise and make a jupiter upgrade kit when that is avaliable.

Its 2024, time for companies to make some sort of resin heating as standard.
