Today we are building a modern sofa from cedar 2x4s and fence pickets costing about $120 in materials plus cushions (I'm using the HALLO cushions from Ikea).

Don't know if you know but since it's for outdoor use that's why it is good to put sealer, spray it to make the water repel. And stain will also been awesome. Beautiful work other then that.

Nice looking sofa. Personally, if I were building one of these I would put a 1x6 on each armrest and along the backrest and I would put the bottom 2x4 of each end the full dimension from front to rear rather than between the front and rear and put stand-offs to keep the sofa apart from the concrete floor about 1" or 1 1/2".
