‘Dangerous schtick’: Harris campaign blasts Trump’s ‘rambling’ interview on economy

“It's all part of Trump's dangerous shtick. It would be funny if the consequences weren't so serious—that this could happen and it could raise prices on so many middle class families across the country,” says Ian Sams, senior spokesman for the Harris campaign.

I can't watch this. I own an electronics manufacturing company. I make it in the US but I can't get parts from the US. Only China. If you started now creating plants that made resistors, capacitors, ICs, Diodes, LCDs, LEDs, etc, it would take YEARS before those manufacturers could sell to me. If he raises tariffs, even through I'm an American Manufacturer - I'm OUT OF BUSINESS. I can't possibly have enough sales to compete. I have bills from Homeland Security, Mouser, Digikey, Arrow Electronics where they either tack on the tariff (17%) for a lot of my parts or I pay directly to government. CHINA DOES NOT PAY THE TARIFFS. I do and my customers who are mostly from the US do. My customers pay with Higher prices.

Why can't we have reporters do an in-depth look at Tariffs and how they work and how they affect all of us. We are a global economy. We can't change that without a LOT of pain.

Survey Mouser, Digikey and Arrow and other manufacturers, find out how much they have paid in tariffs.

Survey all the manufacturers in the US and you will find not many of us want Tariffs.

If there is a trade war then I also won't sell as much to people outside the US.
