Hwy 287 is common road now from Ft Worth to Amarillo. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a really old rt in Texas. It’s bad ally a straight shot.

287 also runs straight up through Colorado and Wyoming right into Hwy 191 which runs into Yellowstone park.

Another possibility is the knife Cara uses in the root cellar to cut off a piece of meat could be the one Beth uses to kill Jamie.
The long gun with the scope Cara uses from the window, IS the same one used by James in an early episode where Shea and his partner watch him kill bandits. Also it’s the same one Margaret uses during the wagon train Indian attack.

Spencer is carrying a Holland & Holland double barrel rifle and a Colt 1911 .45 ACP pistol. The 1911 he probably kept from the Army. The rifle he probably got in England before he went to Africa (the H&H is an English manufacture rifle).

Cara in the trailer is working the action on a bolt action rifle, probably a Springfield 1903 that wouldn’t have been available in 1883. I think James is using a falling block Sharps (like Quigley).
