Is the suit dead in 2020? | How to wear a suit today

Is the suit dead? Some one of you probably dont even care but some people might look at suits and see an image of an old man or boring office outfits and never even think of the alternatives of how to style a suit! So today, I wanted to look a bit into the suiting scene and see where its at. I could have dove way deeper but I think for now we can agree that the suit is definitely not dead, its just in another stage of its life! Modern, bold suiting is the new way to wear a suit..with tees and sneakers or boots. Look at YSL or Celine and you'll get a good idea of how suits are being styled today and what is appealing to the younger audiences that it needs to keep it afloat. I live in north Texas, it's interesting how different business culture is between Dallas and Fort Worth. In Fort Worth, you may see a suit or two downtown walking around, but it is not common. Definitely with Dallas being more of a finance hub and fashion centered city you see way more suits.

I do agree with the idea of a new era of suits, new styles of suits let's say. More modern, streamlined, ... But the classic suit how it is to today is purposefull in all of its part. It has been perfected throughout the years. This is why straying from it shouldn't be the norm. The suit is designed to hide flaws and show strengths. These new designs lack this. This is why the suit may change slightly over time as it has done so far. But will never stray too far from its course and will be forever present :D

I have a bit of a weird question 😂 if I was gonna wear a suit but personalize it by wearing a mesh shirt underneath my blazer ala Harry Styles, in what sorts of situations would that be appropriate to wear? Because I feel like businesses would have a problem with the mesh shirt, and the suit parts of an outfit like that would feel way too formal for any casual situation 😂 I love your content by the way!!

I work as a consultant in San Francisco and tend to find that even the most professional people here won't wear a blazer or suit unless they have a meeting. It's such a business casual environment with so few public spaces and so many hills that nobody wants to climb every day in their nicest oxfords, compared to say...Midtown Manhattan. I know you live in the Bay too, so I think its important for you to remember that further east (NE, Midwest) suits are still slightly more popular and more common among professionals.

I like the fact that suits nowadays have to be styled by yourself and have to show your own creativity. Anyone can go out in a well fitted navy suit and look good, but you'll be very boring.

I dont believe the suit is dead. If i am told not to get too dressed up, i put on a suit with a nice t-shirt. Otherwise, I like dressing up in general in a full suit, shirt, tie, dress shoes.
