It’s not like they were actually gonna be serious players in the ohtani market considering they have 3 guys locked up to 300+ mil and Soto who they likely won’t be able to keep either plus a bunch of other big contracts like musgrove darvish and cronenworth + rumors that they’re broke (not surprising ) then you take into account they’re a dysfunctional organization like the one he’s trying to leave and it was never gonna happen anyways but this almost seals the deal..
