English winters and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres don't mix, so I'm taking one last drive before putting the car that is rapidly bankrupting me into storage - special storage.

That drift @5:59 is poetry. Beautiful video, I come back and watch it once a year. 997.2 is my dream car.

This video really stood the test of time. A phenomenal work of art. May this never be forgotten.

I've lost count of how many times I've watched this video, each time I grow greener with envy at you having the opportunity to own such a masterpiece of a car. One day hopefully, one day. . .

the 997 gt3rs 4.0 is absolute automotive royalty, as is Chris Harris for that matter.

This rare beauty will appreciate like mad in the next 10-20 years and its the most purest driving experience money can buy. I still cant believe he traded this for a 599. (I don't hate Ferraris)

Still watching this video years later. Honestly probably my favourite piece of automotive journalism. It's just as stunning as the first time I saw it.

Here for the yearly rerun, every time it starts to get cold I just can’t stop thinking of this video.

12 years on and still a fantastic video.

Clean low mileage 4.0 cars now close to half a million 😳

Watching this video and having seen a few before from Chris Harris, I start more and more to think of him as a poet. A "the pure style of driving in not downsized real cars poet"! Most of us viewers are as much of a car maniac as he is, but the pure NA engine fascination, he really did express it with this video - without banging the car constantly to the rev limiter! Great job, very great job! I like this guy and his videos only because he can be so fascinated by any car that might hit the right button in him!

IMHO, probably the best YouTube automotive video to date. People will only have to look to this particular video 20, 30, 50 years from now to garner the best understanding of a legendary pure everyday drivers car in the day or circa 2011. Thank you Porsche, thank you Chris.

This video is immortal. The last 911 with a Stick... It totally beats that video of the old guy with the two F40's who drives them like an old chap. The way Chris drove this car in this video, plus the car itself, is Immortal. Porsche. There is No Substitute.

This vídeo 5 years ago made me realize that I needed to sell my 997 carrera 2S before depreciation was too bad. I wanted a GT3 so bad, and luckily was able to get my hands on a Cayman GT4 brand new, but still to this day (still own the GT4) I want a 997.2 GT3 or GT3RS they are so special, of course a 4.0 liter RS is simply unreachable.

Would rather have this than the new 991 GT3. Guaranteed to be a collector in the future, even with miles on it.
