Did you know that just about every website you go to is putting a cookie on your computer? No, I don't mean the delicious kind. But a cookie that is a tracker use to track what you have searched previously and therefore promote ads of things you are actually interested in.

So to find out how to make sure Amazon is not using those cookies find out how you can use Chrome's Incognito mode in order to get the most out of your experience.

Thanks Dave - I'll be utilizing your great info to re-market my first book that has sold maybe 2 per year for past 12 years. LOL while I market the one that's almost finished. THANK YOU!

Do you use the incognito mode for everything you search as an author or just about keywords for amazon sales?

It appears incognito mode prevents the DM Quickview from showing book rankings. Bummer.

Trying to use Amazon in incognito now and it full on does not load, but loads perfectly on regular chrome windows.

Definitely helpful! You can't research things using your normal browser or the searches will be skewed.

This is rubbish. After clicking to go incognito please read what they themselves tell you in the message which pops up. It's on the lines of 'Your ISP knows exactly where you are/what you're doing - AND SO DOES ANY WEBSITE YOU VISIT!' All that happens when going incognito/private browsing is that your history is not saved BY YOUR BROWSER. However it is saved by YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER and the SITES YOU VISIT KNOW EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU CAME FROM and can themselves save that info even if they don't lay a cookie on your computer for future use.
To be incognito you need to use a VPN.
