The Lexus ES has been refreshed for the Chinese market, offering a glimpse of what might be coming to the U.S. for the 2026 model year. If the U.S.-bound version follows suit, we can expect significant updates to the design, tech, and possibly the powertrain lineup.

The redesigned ES retains its sleek silhouette but features updated front and rear fascias. Enhancements
Inside, the cabin gets a tech boost with a new 14.0-inch touchscreen, replacing the current 8.0-inch and optional 12.3-inch displays. The larger screen integrates climate control dials, while the volume knob remains conveniently placed. Luxury touches abound, with semi-aniline leather seats, multi-layer soundproof glass, and a panoramic sunroof. An optional 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system adds to the premium feel, and the classic analog clock remains as a signature feature.

Powertrain Updates
In China, the ES offers two powertrains: the ES200 with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and the ES300h hybrid. While the ES200 isn't expected stateside, the ES300h's hybrid setup might hint at the future direction for the U.S. market. Currently, the U.S. lineup includes three options:
- **ES250**: 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder
- **ES350**: 302-hp 3.5-liter V-6
- **ES300h**: 215-hp hybrid

Given the Toyota Camry’s recent shift to a hybrid-only lineup, the Lexus ES might follow suit, dropping the V-6 and base four-cylinder engines for an all-hybrid offering.
