In 1963 Ryton Urban District Council celebrated its centenary with various special events and a grand parade. Blaydon resident Jack Teasdale filmed some of the activities.
There is no sound track.

Love these old home movies of the area. Life did seem to be a lot more simple then to what we go through today, and almost all the kids are marching in time, all well grown up now.

I remember the fayre with roundabouts…..think one of my shoes fly off on the ride ! Heck, it looks like something from Much further back than 63 😳oh boy !! 🌹💝

Amazing. Sadly we just recently had both my grandmas & dad's funerals at Ryton holy cross Church
