Technically Welt Yang literally moved over from the Honkai Impact world to the Star Rail one so that means others could make the same trip. Apparently all of Hoyoverse's games are like a multiverse where under very specific circumstances characters can jump from one to the next.

One of my favourite details about this game is the ult voicelines are different at different speeds. Not like "oh we just sped up the line" like "we shortened the line to fit the animation better". That's a small thing that a lot of games would just skip over.

quick correction for you Necrit some Characters are actually directly from Honkai Impact 3rd as of current story Welt is the only one introduced that is from HI3 however we know from his splash art Void Archives is still involved He's the blonde man behind welt and it was shown in reburn 2 that Carole was also at one point on the train. Meaning there is a larger connection than simply characters with similar appearances and names.

now imagine if they did more of this, like if you switch to Himeko for example, you would get new interactables in the world related with her personality, like you could hear voice lines whenever she passes by a coffee shop or making delivery orders for every coffee shop she visits...

About the simulated universe - the concept was lifted almost entirely from mihoyo's other game, honkai impact 3rd, and its gamemode called elysian realm. Same goes for the daily quest progress bar

@34:26 Only minor correction is the two games do have Welt in common. The Welt in Star Rail is the exact same Welt that is in Honkai Impact 3rd. Other than that, any similar looking characters can just be hand waved as alternate realities/timeline similarities and that's it.

As a player of Honkai impact 3rd since 2018, I am familiar with mihoyo's story telling and all I have to say is they are not afraid to make the story dark. Honkai 3rd story was made in a way to leave an impact on the player as they experienced the story and the finale for their elysian realm arc for sure made grown men cry. So my expectations for the story in Star Rail are high and so far the story is really good.

I'm also relatively new to Hoyoverse stuff and Sci-fi fantasy is always rare to see pulled off really well so this game has been an absolute treat to me. Especially the world building, they even have a fully voice acted news channel on the train. I have not had this much fun reading random flavour text in a game in so long

Having played HI3 before HSR you do get some even extra enjoyment out of the story as you can observe how they twist previously existing characters and their stories, but indeed even without that star rails story is pretty darn good

I was hesitant to try Honkai Star Rail at first, but I’m so glad I did. It’s such a fun and engaging game with a surprisingly good gameplay. I love the characters and the story, especially Seele. She is my favorite and I really want to get her in my team but it seems that i wont in this run. Nice video tho, hope you keep it on! and genshim too.

one small detail i love is that the female or male protag have different ult animations. the male one seems to be more violent while the female one seems to be more calm.
