Yeah, that "dated" 60s sound will never last. 😉 It's still very prevalent in some of today's music.

Steve Marriott.. Hands down, the best voice in the history of rock and roll!

Thanks for the reaction guys. I found small faces through my dad who was a huge fan and through him turned me into a fan. In terms of the choice of song you guys being from the other side of the pond I presumed you would not have heard much from them but I didn't want to give you a song you'd heard previously. So I did debate with myself what song to send you, and I wanted you to hear Steve marriott's vocals who imo was criminally underrated as a singer.also kenney Jones on drums is one of the best I've heard. Disagree with you both about it being a dated piece. I might give you another small faces request to hear them at their best.

Great song, great band. Tragic end for Steve Marriott. I remember seeing him interviewed on The Tube saying he was getting back into gigging in small pubs and clubs. Seemed like such a nice guy, and a massive influence on British music (especially Weller). What a voice. Good request.

If you wanted to listen to them being ahead of the times, you should`ve listened to the B side. Wham Bam Thank You Mam was a start of rock

More Small Faces please! Failing that I will settle for The Kinks. 😂

More that started a band. All had great careers after they broke

Hadn’t realised quite how much Paul Weller was influenced by Steve Marriott. Even down to the sunglasses and vocal style.

One of my favourite LP's (Ogden's Nutgone Flake) including the silliness that is side two. The other song is 'Lazy Sunday Afternoon'.

1967 I believe. One of my favorite SF songs, and they were an amazing band. I can't think of a better pop singer than Steve Marriott.

I totally disagree with most of your comments. The song IMO has not aged at all, it rocks, it has a great groove and Marriots vocals are on another level. I listened to it when it was released ( Odgens album) and thought the overall sound was ahead of it's time compared to most of the other 60's releases. A lot of new bands today would kill for that sound esp the original Hammond sound. So I suggest you both listen to a wee bit more of The Small Faces ie Tin Soldier ect. And as a side note it took 2 guys to replace Steve Marriot, Ron Wood and Rod Stewart to form " The Faces" who IMO could not hold a candle to the Small Faces. Rock on!!.
