What a happy, observant little one! How she enjoys your little foraging outings! I've had to limit my gardening and food preserving this fall. But I still had some to share with loved ones and I think the quality of each item was better because of the care and attention I gave the process. Slowing down, focusing on less, feeling in the present and doing each task with love in our hearts has such a positive impact.

I find that the “busy work” that I developed as a mother was some of the most meaningful work of my life. It’s incredibly grounding when you begin to take root in your home. I have a new found appreciation in homemaking… I consider it to be a role that goes far beyond cleaning and cooking. There is magic that occurs when we focus on the welfare of the household. It happens even when we are introducing our little ones to their spider friends for the first time. Or eating a new fruit for the first time.
