My Cousins lease these every 2 years. They claim it saves them more money this way than buying. There are now 8 families. My Grandfather started this big beautiful German Farming families as his Dad first taught him from Germany.

Man these are huge combines compared to what my dad used to use many years ago. He was using a John Deere pull type 7721

Not that I have anything to be ashamed of, but as an organic no till guy, I don’t need a powerhouse combine. We’re trail the conventional side by about 15%. On the flip side, we’re getting more dollars in beef gain, and some value adding labeling. But, there aren’t many good 9770’s on the used side anymore. We do rack up the hours, so they wouldn’t be around long. Hence we lease. We’ll have a couple of the 7/700’s next year. I also don’t like the rethreshing on the bigger machines. Too rough on EB’s.
