Blindowl Music Videos are created with an emphasis on learning/education, and are different than most other video videos on U-Tube. They are all created from scratch, nothing is ever copied from another video on U-Tube. They are historically accurate, and more akin to a "time-capsule". A lot of research is done in the making of each Blindowl Video so you can know all the information presented is correct. I welcome comments, and hope you like, and subscribe.
Sincerely; Joseph Cowan

On October 12th 1965 the Beatles started recording songs for their new album "Rubber Soul". The 1st song they recorded was "Run For Your Life". In this video you will hear take 5 (the version used for Rubber Soul), but the basic, preliminary version without vocal and acoustic guitar overdubs. A more "raw" version that is different sounding in that you can hear the bass guitar better and the rawness of the lead vocal by John Lennon. A great insight into the recording process on how the Beatles made their records and especially important since this is considered to be one of their most creative periods and one of their most important LPs. If you like this video please comment and subscribe so I can keep making them. I want to do every song from Rubber Soul with versions of the songs not commonly heard, and educational to hear the technics and instrumentation used in making these classics.

One note* Usually on my Beatle's video the photos are from the recording session that produced the song being listened to. In this video that is not the case. The photos are from the Rubber Soul sessions, but not from the song "Run For Your Life". Just a note to my subscribers on the Rubber Soul videos on am currently working on.

Thanks For Watching!!!

that bass line is so cool and tight. Makes the whole thing move.

The Beatles rule...forever. This is a delightfully dark ditty. A good companion to Maxwell and Happiness is...

I freakin love the Beatles. What an awesome sound they had, even on an old crappy recording. I "rediscovered" them a few years ago, and dug deeper. I read about their endless hours playing dives in Hamburg, Germany before they made the big time. That goes a long way towards explaining their amazing stage presence and tight sound.

John always let us know that he was a serious, 'jealous guy'. There was never a doubt; 'You're Gonna Lose that Girl', "No Reply", so many more.

From being a kid at the Cavern lunch time sessions, seeing all the different bands, including the Beatles all doing cover versions, of American artists of that time, learning them from records brought back to Liverpool by the Cunard Yanks, lads who worked on the Cunard Liners sailing between Liverpool and New York.
To become the most covered band in history, how times change.

It seems to me the very first song the Beatles recorded for their album became their album's last track. Another example is "Tomorrow Never Knows" (Revolver) and "A Day In The Life" (Sgt. Pepper)

“Wait” was actually the first one they recorded as it was recorded during the “help” album sessions, but this is still very cool to listen too!

There are overdubs. George can't be two places at once. There is the slide-up and the electric guitar simultaneously. (john-strum; paul=bass, ringo=tambourine).

John did not like this song, although he said it was a favorite of George. During the Playboy Interviews he noted that it was a "throwaway song, " while the interview noted that the controversial lyric line was from an Elvis Presley song (Baby Let's Play House). It goes. . .

"Now listen to me, baby
Try to understand
I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man"

I love this song, and this whole album, and, really, have loved everything that the Beatles did, right from the start. These lyrics, though, are terrifyingly dark, violent, and misogynistic. It is my understanding that John was coming from a childhood experience that made trusting women very near to impossible, and that this song was part of his lifelong struggle to deal with that.

In its rawness and vitality, you can kind of imagine this is what live might've sounded like, if the chicks could stop screaming and we all, including them, could hear.
