As a Blazers fan, I don't think he's a good coach at all lmao. He inherited a 6 seed under Stotts and got them playing so badly that they blew it up by the deadline. That team was going nowhere anyway, but the expectation was that it was gonna be mid, not garbage. He tried to run an aggressive PnR coverage with Nurkic at center, he's still trying to play his 2-3 zone which has been getting cooked for 2 years and runs no discernible offense. He wants the team to attack on the break but his defensive schemes make it harder to get stops. The players seem to like him though, so that's a plus.

Portland fan here and I don’t see him as a good head coach. I think he could be a good assistant coach, playing good cop to a more stern head coaches bad cop

former player turned straight to head coach are always a recipe for disaster - they should get someone like Jordi Fernandez or Kenny Atkinson as their coach or Brian Shaw if they want a player turned coach so bad.

To be fair Chauncey Billups never had a team to coach it was just Damian Lillard on that team and there was no way that team was making it to the playoffs
