We also love Valladolid and REALLY love cochinita pibil, so much that I learned how to make it and cooked it up for Christmas a couple of years ago! 🙂 That cave pool looks AMAZING! ~Gina

Hi Paul, following your recommendation, we drove today from Playa del Carmen to Valladolid, one of our favorite cities, and wanted to finish the day at the Casa Italia, the Italian place recommended by you. Despite being a day, when their website says to be open, it was closed. No sign to indicate, it is exceptionally closed. We called and learned that they just didn't fancy to open today, on a busy Wednesday in Valladolid. Certainly not your fault, just wanted to let other potential guests know to better make sure, whether they are open or not.

Valladolid is one of 2 of my favorite places in Mexico. San Cristobol de las Casas is the other.
That place looks beautiful.

Great video. Recently found your channel while learning Spanish and saw you had this channel as well.

My girlfriend and I are considering taking a trip to Mexico and I think this looks like a cool place that we both would love. Thanks for all the great content. Looking forward to more videos.

Spent 4 months in Valladolid in a little apartment in front of the Exconvento. There is still a bicycle culture there and it has a cyclopista around the town and the police are diligent about the 40 kph traffic speed limit. I swam in many local cenotes and cycled to both Tulum and Rio Lagartos easily. Good food and friendly hospitality. Great memories and nice to know there is still some of the old Mexico left.

This place looks so cool and like a perfect couples getaway! The Yucatán is still on my bucket list, and it’s good to know about these hidden gems.

I’ll be trying the Italian place you recommend next year, hopefully Tren Maya is up and running. While on Isla Mujeres a couple years ago, we found an incredible Italian restaurant owned by an American couple.
They started it at the beginning of the pandemic, the best Ossobuco and calamari I’ve had was there, called De Nuccio’s
Live music seemed every night, a wine cellar, and a kitchen that rivals something akin to Masterchef kitchen. Great staff also, and the owners come around and make the time to chat with you.
On the peaceful side of the island away from the crowds

Just WOW!! So even though you were not staying at the hotel they allowed you to purchase a wonderful package including that 50 minute massage! That was very awesome of them... is this something that is routine? Also if you book the room for the approximately $200 per night do you pay the additional fees for massage and access to the "cave pool" or are some of those items included in the ROOM fees???

Hey bro! I just mentioned you and one of my latest video descriptions. Would you be able to tell me if what the police did was legal in that video?? Thanks brother 👊

Hi Qroo Paul (& Linda too!) ---You both have brought a lot of comfort to our family, through suffering in lockdown through the pandemic, and now while we're trying to plan out exit/excape plan. Can you post more videos please? 2 months is 2 long....

Your videos are really inspiring and give hope to those of us still working Also -- could. you post a video on this: a lot of law enforcement people retire in MX, . And obviously --- we're not [legally] entitled to possess firearms in MX.

Is that a form of therapy in a way?

What I mean is that, after moving to MX -- bc of the prohibition on possessing firearms -- it forces former LE who move there to be more introspective, to not think so much about the external world (/threats) and instead (bc presumably, wherever an Expat lands in MX will be a safe, protected environment, so there's no real issues re external threats) -- bc of the 'powerlessness' of not being able to [legally] possess a firearm -- to focus more on the deeper meaning in life, to kind of step outside of ourselves and see things from a bigger perspective.

I've been thinking a lot about this big picture stuff lately..
