Suggestion: Will thermal paste in a water cooling loop make the cpu less hot?

I've been told to be very careful around spinning HDD's, and avoid moving them as much as possible, to prevent the read/write head touching the disk in process.
Maybe you could test that as well: How much of a shock does a running HDD need to become unusable?
