Excellent video without too much pro-Waves bias. Seems to me this is a fairly inexpensive way to learn mastering from what Waves AI does even if all you do is mimic it to learn your mastering tools better and take on the challenge of outdoing AI. Thanks!

Actually not a very good example - I also did a lot of EDM stuff, but usually the masters delivered to me sound more dull and have less depth and punch - here you can hardly tell a difference after the mastering process. The example should have been more realistic, maybe something with real instruments and voices? And then the best part is: "So let's put our headphones on"... Literally no mastering engineer would only listen to a master with headphones on - only just to listen to the stereo image. How can you judge the low frequency content?

No need for online mastering: just take control of gain staging and perform M/S-EQ, MB-Compression and Analog flavor (tape or tube) and finally limiting or even better wave shaping.

Could you not have picked like the worst piece of music as a sample? Hard to tell what's actually happening when the sample sounds like it was farted out of AI computer game.

Nice that was dirty of you mentioning that it cost money at the very end. Don’t do that again
