15:27 “we walk in the footsteps of pioneers who tamed the wild” is insane. This one little statement encapsulates the essence of her whole speech, to be honest. Once again, America’s history of genocide against the indigenous people is being belittled and erased. White supremacy is alive and well. Politicians like this only care about other people who look like them, physically and socioeconomically. Injustices beyond “my white kids won’t get to live their American dream because people of color are being given opportunities” just don’t exist in their minds. This is what out of touch looks like, it is absolutely terrifying and disheartening for the future of our society. I can promise you this is scarier than any “propaganda” TikTok is supposed to be brainwashing the new generation with.
