Tuto Cutugno performed Insieme: 1992, representing Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 in Zagreb in what was then Yugoslavia, winning the Contest.

The 1990 Contest host broadcaster was Yugoslav Radio Television (JRT) - one of the founding members of the European Broadcasting Union.

Insieme is one of the more overlooked winners of the contest, but it's definitely one of the strongest. It's filled with conviction and optimism, and it makes you want to believe and sing along. While it fits neatly into the zeitgeist of 1990 (and might even be seen as pandering!), it's still an important song today, in terms of what the future could hold.
