HOW TO roll VICTORY ROLLS 6 DIFFERENT ways - Fitfully Vintage

When I first started doing my hair in vintage styles I couldn't roll a victory roll for toffee. It was VERY frustrating because the V roll is so intrinsic to many vintage hair dos. As with many things I learnt that there is not just one way to roll but a whole plethora of ways to get your hair into a way that looks pretty much authentic.

Still today, after many years of doing my hair this way I sometimes cant get it right the first time and need to employ a different technique to get the look that I want. I've worked out that I usually roll 1 of 6 different ways and I have filmed them today for you just in case you haven't seen some of them before.

Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right?

Welcome to Vintagious, here, in my own litttle corner of Youtube I will show you how to create beautiful hairstyles from all eras. Sure, my main focus is on simple vintage hairstyling but I also love easy modern styles.

I don't have a favourite era, it changes all the time. One day it'll be Edwardian hairstyles that I'm all over, the next, pinup girl hair, the next I'll be all about Greek Goddesses and their crazy Barnets! I just love it all!

I do hope that you enjoy my videos and that you can learn something from them, even just a tiny bit - and even if you learn nothing I hope that they make you smile.

Man, I tried this and now I know why you call them victory rolls. Because rolling them is a freaking battle!

I was watching you yesterday and I found that if you use a cool curl iron, victory rolls are so easy. if you have layers you can do it with damp hair or with style products. my hair tends to stick to my fingers when I try to roll by hand. the barrel of the iron will influence the size of your rolls. hope this is helpful to others

Oh dear I imagine me looking so cute with victory rolls
but I might as well have feet for hands when it comes to hair styles

I have to say, I had never dared to go for a vintage hairstyle until after watching you videos. You show how to do the styles so easily and they turn out way cute. I'll definitely be practicing my curling.

This is such a great video! All the vintage ladies have victory roll videos, but this one gives so many more options than just the traditional way. Thank you for making this!

Your hair seems to just do whatever you want it to do. I can't do a single one of these, my hair just falls apart before i've even got halfway there, it's really frustrating! My hair is extremely curly and frizzy and all I can seem to do with it is stick curl creme in it and let it get on with it. I hate my hair :(

Thank you so SO much for this video! I've wanted victory rolls since I was a little girl, but I've never been able to get them looking anything like a swirl.
Your techniques have made them very 'do-able, ' and not absolutely terrifying. I'm glad that you gave a few options because I just could NOT get the loop and tuck to work for me, and that seems to be the popular way.
Once again, thank you again for this very easy to understand, helpful video.

I love how thoroughly you described how to do these styles! Today I am attending my husband's surprise 50th birthday party, which is 50's themed, and I will be trying one of these hairstyles. Thank you so much :D

My hair is really long (nearly at my butt when straight) and all one length. My challenge with victory rolls is that the hair is longer than my outstretched arms so I can't reach the ends of my hair above my head 😂 If anyone has any tips to share on rolling for extremely long hair I'd love to hear from you

I'm doing my level 2 competition soon and found this video really really helpful, I'm finding that when doing rolls my fingers are all thumbs, so thanks for a straightforward visual aid that actually makes sense. xx

This was so bloody helpful. I'm not kidding. I've tried the "Loop and Tuck" method, and the "Thumb Swirl" method and neither have worked for me. But I'm so excited to try the others. I love the style. Definitely subscribing.

I'm so happy I've found this video! In most tutorials you need to have curl iron which I don't, so this was extremely useful, thanks! <3

I’ve been using the thumb roll for years now but I’d forgotten where I learned it! Thank you so much for the info and style I’ve stolen from you over the years!

Ooh thank you so much fir this video! I am really into Marvel's Agent Carter right now and the hairstyles and whole look to the 40's and 50's is amazing. I wish I could wear the clothes of that time period but maybe after I loose alot of weight I'll be brave enough for that but for the here and now I Might try some victory rolls for my night out tonight. Gonna practice just now and see if I can do any of these before it's time to actually get ready for the night.

What a great video! Thank you so much for this. I'm going to try this, even though my hair is scandinavian hence thinner. Hopefully it will work anyway. Thank you so much for showing those techniques. It is amazingly beautiful!
