Philo of Alexandriaand the allegorical method of interpretation

An introduction of Philo of Alexandria and his incorporation of the allegorical method in his attempt to reconcile the Hebrew Scriptures with Greek philosophical thought. Hermeneutics (the art of interpretation) is also discussed and allegory is contrasted with a literal/historical/grammatical method of interpretation.
