Not surprising at all it's the most watched episode. A young Robert Redford? You bet I'll watch and re-watch it a million times.

I remember catching a rerun of "Nothing In The Dark" in the eighties, and almost falling out of my chair when I realized that the young policeman was actually Robert Redford!! But even more amazing is how his humanity, depth, and compassion showed through, fully and completely realized, even then. Thank God for Rod Serling, the genius that brought talent like this to the attention of the world. RIP.

A touching episode in a series unequaled to this day. The Twilight Zone was the rainbow's end of the first Golden Age of television. In a decade known for westerns, comedy and idealistic family shows, Serling wrote and brought about a contemporary portrayal of human frailties. When Redford as Death stretches out his hand and says, " Mother, " there is a visceral feeling that resonates in the viewer. Brilliant acting and script. A keeper!

I was sick with COVID in the hospital and told the doctor that I did not fear death because he looked like Robert Redford... The doctor was too young and did not get the reference
I did survive but that moment remains with me

It was the best Twilight Zone episode of them all. Love the speech he gave to that old woman to make her want to step over into the next realm. People who are facing terminal illness should watch that episode of Twilight Zone and it will lessen their fear for what is to come.

Yeah it's good because you always see older people talking to someone in the room before they pass. So this episode kinda makes you wonder.

Serling wrote the story outline and then George Clayton Johnson wrote the teleplay.. The director, Lamont Johnson talked about it in his Archives of Television spot before he died. Gladys Cooper was excellent in that role and she gave him the opportunity to play it so contrary, as a charming trickster

Um, my Uncle George Clayton Johnson wrote the script for Nothing in the Dark. Not Rod Serling. Get it right, Mr. Redford. :)

“Nothing in the Dark” is absolutely the best and most viewed Twilight Zone episode and one of my favorites released in season 3. Long live Gladys Cooper and Rod Serling’s outstanding legacies where they sail up into the Twilight Zone. Thank you, Robert Redford, for helping that elderly woman overcome fear by walking out of the dark with her.

He was Alexander in captain America two, and in 2, 016 he played Grace's dad in Pete's dragon.

This was a very good episode. I've seen this particular episode three times, and feel that your portrayal of death was good. Particularly in how this lady expected for you to take her away.

I liked this episode for the story and both actors. Was very deep.

Rod Serling:"There was never any doubt in my mind that Bob would be a star. He was the only actor I never got tired of watching no matter how many times I saw the episode in the dallies."
