My favorite place to build is smack dab in the middle of the map, on the ridge overlooking the valley to the northwest and overlooking the sinkhole. There's a pool with fish, a wicked yew tree surrounded by luggage, natural defenses, plenty of resources, beautiful view, and lots of cannibal action. You can hangglide from that ridge all the way into the sinkhole from a tree platform too.

Oooh I didn’t know you can spawn at different places. I spawned right by the main village! 🤦‍♀️ and as a new player I ran right into it and there were a bunch of cannibals chillin there. I didn’t die because I ran away but it scared me enough to seclude myself and have no confrontation for 17 days lol

Definitely good advice. Of all the areas I've tried to build a base at, I've found the best has been on the ridge overlooking the fertile lands. It's pretty fertile up there too, there's loads of trees, and enemies can only come at you from one direction, which is easily walled off, and there's a pond right there so even if you get hit with a long dry spell, you can boil up some water to keep yourself hydrated. Finding that place from some of the start locations can be a bit of a challenge for me sometimes, so this definitely helps me get there, even it I spawn in some crazy crash site.
EDIT: I also found in my current run that if you can avoid killing the surface cannibals, they're way less aggressive. I've only killed 1 on the surface, some cannibal lady who wouldn't stop attacking me, but she was alone so no witnesses to know what happened to her, and I quickly burned her body in an out of the way place to destroy any evidence. I did encounter a male cannibal the next day in an area they usually don't patrol, but was able to avoid killing him. He eventually ran off and left me alone. The cannibal chiefs are more and more likely as time goes by to just shriek at my in a very intimidating way, follow for a bit and then run off. Interesting AI I have to admit. If you want a more peaceful stay on the peninsula, this seems to work to keep their agro level down to manageable levels to concentrate on base building, survival and finding the parts to reach the endgame.

I like the plane crashing near the camp ground where the arrows are close to geese lake..that is one of my favorite places because you get the arrows and are close to the beach where you can nab a bunch of rabbits

Great videos! 1:40 I was in the river close to the beach on the south side when I heard a horrible screech right behind me and I *booked it* to the other side, turn around and there's two starving cannibals laughing at me. Now I know why they were so close!

Hey Farket, me and the boys love watching your videos and it's what got me off of Apex Legends and other shooters to try out The Forest with my clan mates for the first time. I did a 25 hour edit on my first forest video that I just uploaded and without watching your videos, I wouldn't have had any idea where to even start playing this game.
