Make sure to turn on the machine BEFORE placing descaling pipe. Only AFTER this the flat white button will turn ON and you can start

I followed the instructions in the video and it worked. The trick is when the descaling solution cycle is finished, the button "shines" aka blinks. When that happens, it's time for the rinse cycle. You fill up the tank with clean water and hit the button. It will run through the whole tank of water then shuts itself off.

I love your manual. I wondered why I didn't like my coffee anymore and after descaling I knew why. :D
A small tip: after the descaling, the flat white button doesn't shine. It blinks. People get confused because of this.

After being stuck in descaling mode for a third cycle I spoke with customer service. They said the machine has a sensor to measure how much water flows through in the second half of the cycle (the clean water). If not enough water flow through, the machine will turn off, but it will remain stuck in the descaling mode.
The solution is to run the descaling process, but in the second half, fill the water tank to the rim and mid-way through add another cup of water.
It worked for me.
Note: the first part of the cycle is very slow (an hour??).
Obviously this is a bug - I hope this helps others.

The cafe latte button illuminates for the rinse cycle on our machine...

This video instruction seems wrong at one point. After the descaling (with the descaling fluid) the video says: "the flat white button shines". This is not true, the flat white button BLINKS and the process stops. Very confusing!

I was also stuck in the vicious loop of descaling. There is NOT a reset button in this contraption. I read all the comments. This is a way out (after 6 hours of frustration): 1. While the machine is OFF, place the descaling tap. 2. Do the first step of descaling. 3. When the second step of rinsing is initialized, please, add EXTRA water when the level is reaching half way. Do that a couple of times. The rinsing needs A LOT OF WATER, so that the sensor can send the "end of descaling process" to the main program.
It worked for me and now I'm enjoying my coffee😁

After sending my machine back three times for repair, I finally discovered through a most helpful Nespresso advisor, that BEFORE you insert the descaling pipe, the machine must be totally OFF power. Once I followed this simple tip life was simple again. They should tell you this though.

This video shows the flat white button illuminating constant when the descaling process is complete. It doesn’t. It flashes. Wasted so much time waiting for it to stop flashing and turn constant, only to later find out from multiple attempts and contacting customer support that it doesn’t do this. The manual also wasn’t much help. It says the flat white button “shines” when descaling is finished. That’s quite vague...

I’m experiencing the same issue with this machine. After owning it for only 4 weeks - descaling light appears. How can a new machine require a descale after only 4 weeks of use ??? Now, I’m descaling - and unable to get it off the descaling / rinse mode ... so frustrating .. any advice welcome please. I’ve never had this problem in 7 years with my previous machine. Spent a fortune on this gran latisima .. and it sucks ... HELP

Why cant Nespresso just include this tutorial inside their app. Its such a pain in the ass to have to look for this every couple of months when i need to this.

I am from the UK and I am stuck in descaling mode. Tried the "add more water to the rise cycle" method but nothing happened. Now when I insert the descaling pipe the white light flashes but when I press it it goes out and the descale light flashes faster...any help appreciated
