ECMO is so awesome. You can stop a patient's heart, and they can be in asystole, and HE CAN BE IN ICU, and be on full support ECMO. No open chest. Isn't that just so interesting?

This is not a very intelligent comment! ECMO is a life support technique like the artificial heart or hemodialysis. Hundreds of patients have survived severe lung failure due to the availibility of ECMO!
