Rails, Minecarts should be upgraded if we were able to make better trains bigger than 3-5 carts and it was easier to use when chained together i wouldve use them.

We definitely need a revamp of rails and horses. If creativity is the main theme of Minecraft, we should have a more nuanced system with rails that could be comparable to progressions like redstone. In short, we must also have a creative way to manage rails.

I would personally not enjoy Minecraft as much as I do if I had to walk everywhere, especially when gathering materials for mega bases. Also makes getting around the Nether a heck of a lot easier. And the End, obviously.

A bigger impact on the game imo is villager trades. It's just too powerful. Most farms are essentially useless

Instead of nerfing what's cool, make the lame things cool as well. Minecarts and railways are expensive and buggy. Horses are tedious and unreliable. There's tons of ways to improve them both, don't tear down Elytra just because Mojang is lazy.

I think it opens up the game for further exploration and allows people to push the game further without enormous amounts of time and effort

Minecart speed needs a crazy buff to incentivize building the infrastructure, which takes a lot of materials and effort for long distances. Even though ice roads in the nether with boats are already extremely good in the endgame though they are incredibly expensive, requiring an amazing ice farm for pack ice.

I'm split by this one. On the one hand, playing without elytra is just cool because it feels like the old days where we used to explore the world on foot. On the other hand though, elytras are incredibly useful and bring a whole new variety of possibilities into the game!

My biggest argument for Elytra is that it's supposed to be a "post-game" reward, similar to beacons. While yes, they can break servers easily, they're just as easily turned off, and if you don't enjoy it, then you don't have to use one.

Every human has a dream to fly with wings. Elytra is a dream come true.

I feel like the elytra was a much needed addition for builders such as myself. Building up to the top of the mountain with blocks and water etc... Was always soo slow. Everyone has their own opinion but I believe it was essential to add.

I feel like all the early hate people just missed that the game is ever changing. We now base everything around the Elytra and go further beyond with custom transport.

honestly, i cant imagine not having an elytra in my survival world. I have played in it for over 1000 days and built so many things in different areas. Walking or horses is probably the "traditional" way of playing minecraft but for late game elytra is just definitely the best.

I’m mixed on the elytra because it is really fun, I do also miss the massive railroad projects we used to have.

I will say though that “if you don’t like it then don’t use it” is one of the worst arguments when it comes to game design because players can and will optimize the fun out of anything and that’s just human nature. I do think there should be an easy way to disable the elytra altogether for those who don’t want to use it though, some checkbox on world creation or something, so players can very easily remove the temptation to use it.

I want horses to be able to swim and rails need to go just a bit faster... I feel like they use to be faster with powered rails... maybe I am wrong on that. I don't miss walking everywhere or going super slow with a horse. Once you get an elytra I feel like the game actually opens up tons of options and opportunities for you. Thats why I love Minecraft.

As someone who works 50 hours a week, having Elytra actually enables me to play the game and do stuff in the short spare time I have to play it

As the elytra does present some serious advantages, this is a heavily endgame resource, along with enough rockets to keep you going you you need a gunpowder farm. This whole debate really depends on your goal in minecraft. If you play like me the goal is to get stuff and begin large projects and builds, something super impressive and fun. I feel most people play similar to this way, but those who don't, the need for the elytra is not there. Overall, what this mechanic does is save huge amounts of travel time for serious players, not ruin the survival experience. If anything the elytra is a more dangerous and expensive option of travel anyway

One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the video but was in one of the messages is the new architecture that we can now reasonably do with the addition of the Elytra. Sky cities and landing pads have made my building experience super fun so I do love the elytra and since I love rails I also use rails for transport of materials and red stone mechanics

Mindless elytra flying is also kind of relaxing and liberating when you're stressed out.
