According to Director and co-actor Ben Stiller, Tom Cruise is the one who shaped nearly all aspects of his character Les Grossman, including the dancing and makeup look. He said, Cruise chose to play the character with not just the obvious make-up effects on his face and head, and the hairy chest and arms, but also suggested wearing the oversized fake hands.
