Conditional statements are how you tell your program to do different things depending on different criteria. If statements are the most basic. If something is this, do this, else, do that.

In preparation for a change in the format of future lessons, I've changed a part of my video descriptions. Now, instead of giving you a link to the previous lesson I uploaded, I'm giving you links to any and all of the relevant "prerequisite" lessons that you should know before watching this video.

The current chapter, chapter 1, will be structured in a fairly linear way, but in chapter 2, when I go over Turtles, I will be teaching you about libraries (APIs) and turtle functions. I will be using stuff from lessons in this chapter AND that chapter, but I probably won't be using every single thing, so I'll link back to the lessons that are only relevant to those videos. Plus, when we get to Chapter 3 and I go over stuff that is native to Lua but not ComputerCraft, you won't need to know anything about Turtles unless I specifically use a turtle for that lesson. So instead of having you go all the way back to watch every single lesson about turtles, I'll only have you go back to the lessons related to that lesson.

The next lesson and full playlist will still be linked in the description underneath the prerequisites, so you can continue on or find what you need at your own leisure.
