If your car is only moving when using the parental remote, then the most likely reason for this is the pedal switch is bolting.
The process of changing the switch is very simple as we are going to show you in this video. For this repair, you will need a flathead and Phillips head screwdriver.
Firstly, ensure that your car is powered off. Using a flathead screwdriver, remove the pedal from the car by pushing the screwdriver against the assembly from the side and popping it out. Try not to use too much force as this could potentially damage the tabs.
We advise that you take a photo of the wiring so this can be replicated when reassembled.
Remove the "spade connectors" from the switch by pulling them off the pins. Using a Phillips head screwdriver remove the screws from the back of the assembly.
Pull away the pedal from the body and this will expose the switch itself.
Remove the switch from the pedal body by pressing down on the tabs from the top. You can use a flathead to push down the tabs. Pull the switch away from the pedal body.
To fit the new switch ensure that the new switch is placed the correct way round.
Push the tabs in while simultaneously pushing the new switch into the pedal body. Replace the pedal back into the pedal body. Secure it with the screw that was previously removed.
Place the spade connectors back into the terminal pins to ensure they are on the correct way round when they were removed.
Line up the tabs on the assembly of the grooves on the body of the car and click into place.
Turn the car on and press the pedal to test if there is now movement from using the pedal.
And, that's it you have successfully repaired the pedal switch on your ride on.
