For my first video of 2021, we're going back to the past, 2012 to be exact, where we can find an archive of Edd Goulds hidden artwork and oddities.

Music:
Aquatic Ambiance - DKC OST
Gassenhauer - Carl Offert
Evergreen - Geographer
Spring Fling - Track Tirbe
We Are Lost - Orchards

I get all my stock footage from Pixabay and Pexels, you can use any of their videos without paying money or giving credit .

As a digital artist, i can say that this is amazing advice. Keeping old work could seriously boost your feelings. Seeing how far you’ve gone, knowing how much effort all your art took, and noticing the improvement is vital for getting more motivation. It could also be a very interesting experience to look at old art.

Something about Eddsworld just hits home. I don't know why or how.

I always come back to this video when I have art block, or am just feeling generally discouraged about drawing. It reminds me that not everything I draw needs to be a perfectly rendered breathtaking masterpiece, I can draw silly doodles if I want. I can have fun creating. This video is a form of therapy, lol

I can't believe I pay more attention to Eddsworld history than history itself
Edit: I'm now a history nerd

i remember when i was around 14-15 i used to just draw for fun and draw whatever comes to my mind, practicing how to draw eyes or clothes, or just random silly things, but now i plan things out to an extent where drawing isnt as fun as it used to be. I literally have an entire list of things i want to draw that i saved but i dont have enough motivation to get them done faster, planning and scheduling things can take the fun out of them, its the same with videogames, i used to just have fun playing the game instead of worrying about the quests to complete or get my weapons upgraded to the max level, so now i treat even the fun things as if it were a job.

Great video! And thanks for the mention!! Some of those sketches you showed made me VERY nostalgic... We’re working hard on the new gallery section and it will be filled with lots of stuff like this. ❤️

That’s Rimmer from red dwarf. Its a tv shoe that Edd enjoyed, you can tell by the Smeghead T-shirt edd wears in the show and the outro of one of the episodes which are all red dwarf references

This video got me tearing up but in a positive way. Im often an perfectionist when it comes to art. im constantly limiting all my creativity and time only for the perfection of a drawing, the process of drawing not being even a bit enjoyable. I should learn from once and for all that i should create art for the sake of creating art, maybe i should stop limiting myself to my high standards and try to take a step outside of this mentality.
So thank you, thank you for making this video and helping me realize something as important as that.
