Fun fact: not only do the dog tags that Raiden throws away in the end show the information you enter in the first node. But the dog tags you can collect from the soldiers on the ship and the plant actually show the names of real persons. There was a campaign during the development of MGS2 where people could enter their names via a website and a bunch of lucky ones were chosen and integrated in the game.

For anyone interested, the reason the additional fields (year of birth, bloodtype) were removed from the HD Collection & Master Collection was due to concerns with storing the personal info of minors on consoles that were connected to the internet. That said, as of last night ive fully restored the additional info, i will be adding it to my restoration mod on Nexus later this week. :3

I'm sure that the Konami's lawyers probably advised removing the various bits of personal information from later releases, but in all fairness, the developers themselves put the info into the game, knowing that it would be put there forever once the game's released. They would probably *want* the info being out there, and are probably annoyed that many playing their game won't ever see this Easter egg with their own 'touch' added.

My birthday is April 30th, so that's the day that i put into the node. So i was shocked when Rose was talking to Raiden about that exact date. So i thought that Raiden's birthday was always the same as the player's.
