I doubt Mark would care to return after Harrison left and Carrie's untimely death. After the fact, having it gone the way he didn't want...literally, probably didn't help...I'm sure episode 9 will be great and we'll see a returned Luke as a ghost or something.

I don't understand why luke could see the good in darth vador who was a sith lord that served as the emperor's assassin for years but when he saw some darkness in kylo immediately gives up and considers killing him.

The sad thing is the new characters could of been salvaged or made interesting but it seems this will not be the case.

Can't blame Mark for his comments. I do feel the loss of Carrie as you did say dampened his want to return. It is sad really.

I feel TERRIBLE for Mark Hamill. To me, it shows complete arrogance from the filmmakers....

1.Thinking they can come up with new characters which will be more iconic than Luke Skywalker.
2.Thinking the script they wrote was a great story for Luke Skywalker. WRONG
3.Killing him off the way they did. I just don't know how I can ever forgive them. (I won't.)
4.Holding him back from potential epic scenes in fear it would draw attention away from the "new"..."better" characters.

I think when Carrie died, they should have reshot the ending to have luke exhausted from the projection he did and then sit on the rock to just meditate and rest, while Rey goes to chewie or who ever is piloting the falcon to go to ach-to to get Luke, then we see Luke resting as he looks up and sees the falcon, he boards it and credits,

I definitely lost hope in Star Wars. Mark Hamill is indeed the last Jedi, in the sense that he's the last person working on these films to actually care about the legacy of Geroge Lucas.
