To all those thinking this is wrong to give as a gift, let me set you straight. I lost a 4 year old daughter 20 years ago. She's my first thought when I wake and the last before I sleep and every second in between every day. That pain is ever present. I've learned to cope and find peace and happiness with my family, but that will never leave me. You can't "remind" me or make me sad "again" because it's never left. It's comforting to have pictures of her and mementos. I have a pillow on my bed made from one of her little dresses that I hug whenever I need to feel her close. This is a beautiful gift

Before being a father, I simply would have been able to sympathize with this and felt somewhat happy for the man. After becoming a father this made me well up with tears. He probably felt like that was a part of her and for a second felt the loss again mixed with an appreciation for such a beautiful gift. The love of a parent is incredibly strong.

I cant even look at photos of my loved ones (pets included) that have passed on, without crying. His reaction has me in tears. Life is so short. Losing a loved one is a pain like no other.
