Some of these errors reminds me of the wizards spell compendium from 2nd ed. In vol one they made a huge editing mistake. Behind the scenes they decided to move away from using "mage" as a generic term for wizards. So they had to edit this huge volume of spells. Clearly someone just ctrl f'ed for "mage" and pasted in "wizard". The funny part is they changed the word damage into dawizard in a lot of spell descriptions.

Carrion Crawler was a funny one, you needed to make a Dexterity saving throw to end the Paralysed condition which you couldn't ever pass because you have the Paralysed condition.

I can't believe last post was thinly veiled promotion for this video. I trusted you!

That Carion Crawler Dexterity save was actually hilarious because it meant that you were dodging out of the way of poison that was already in your blood stream

The True Polymorph errata also made it so that the spell no longer ends on a long rest, when temporary hit points vanish. Before, it said that the spell ends once the temporary hit points are gone.

I'm not sure about any other beast stat blocks, but the panther and tiger changed from the PHB to the monster manual. In the PHB they had multiattack, which let them attack and prowl. Prowl was move half your movement without provoking opportunity attacks and hide action (after moving).

The monster manual version drops the multiattack and moves prowl to a bonus action, which can EITHER disengage or hide.

I have nothing to add, but I'm commenting for the algorithm.

If you hit with a poisoned weapon and the enemy is immune to the damage, it no longer expends the poison. Also, poisons now work well with graze

As Colby pointed out, Spirit shroud being a bonus action while CME being an action warrants CME doing more damage.

I think the 1d8 per level is a good middle ground, might should have included that it only works with weapon or melee attacks though to avoid the scorching Ray or Eldritch blast cheese.

So for Animal Shapes, always transform into a Hippopotamus for 82hp (or a two-headed plesiosaur for 100hp if your dm allows it) before turning into whatever it is you actually want.
Because the temp hp only cares what you turn into first, and it doesn't change when you change form.

For Shapechange: Dragon Turtle for 356hp, or Ogrémoch for 526hp if your DM allows it and you're level 20.

A subtler change to 3 high level spells:
level 8 Animal Shapes, Level 9 True Polymorph and level 9 Shapechange:
There is now no longer a clause that the transformation ends when the target has no Temporary Hit Points.

Monk Deflects Poison tipped arrow. Reduce all Damage = no Poison, reduce all but 2-3 points of damage = takes Poison.

Isn’t the Poisoner change due to the Graze weapon mastery? You could miss but do damage and the poison would stay.

I would have liked Rod of the Pact Keeper to stipulate the spell slot recovered is a Warlock Pact Slot. This is to avoid a 1 level Warlock dip to get two 9th level spell slots for an 18th level caster.

the first thought i had with the poisoner change is creatures with immunities, for example a poisoned longsword against an ochre jelly

I thought they might roll back changes to Armor of Agathys. I’m glad they did not. For some inexplicable reason it felt like the changes might not have been intentional.

CME does still scale better than Spirit Shroud, but given that it’s an action it might be fine now.

The change to Poisoner clarifies its interaction with the Graze mastery.

Heavy armor master is one example I can think of. I could hit with a poisoned dagger. Roll low. Do no damage.

Very few changes and mostly wording clarification. CME is still probably best at ST but you do have reasons now to take spirit shroud over it ( specifically talking about valor bard, cuz those two spells are not on most of other classes’ spell lists). Looks good! Thanks for the update!
