Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Short film “Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó” is a personal love letter from first generation Taiwanese-American director Sean Wang, to his Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó (Grandma & Grandma). From Disney, this multigenerational story follows this grandma super team that dances, stretches and farts their sorrows away. As the first installment of the “People & Places” relaunch, Walt Disney’s Academy Award-winning documentary short film series from the 1950s and 1960s.

Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó begins streaming on Disney+ Friday, February 9.

I've never feel so intimate and connected with a film so fast. Surprisingly it made me even cry which is rare for me watching a movie. For now my favorite nominee for the category

It's nice to show the golden side of golden age. My grandfather passed away 99 years old but his wife left almost 30 years befor him. After age of 90 years constantly ask to die, but good for him he keeps getting up each morning and face the old age. He has good home but the quality life dropped and he became sad. Anyway, this is a great film to remind us that there is a growing aging population and they need us to keep their quality of life up.

This has me in tears. My niece had her TV on and they have Disney so I asked if we could watch it. They remind me of my mom who passed a couple of years ago. My mom was a nai nai.

This was filmed during the pandemic for context (that's why they didn't leave the house?). Loved it but it could have had a little more context. Now we care about the older beauties and love them.
