I'm no mechanic nor do I proclaim to have a deep understanding of motorcycles. The aim of this video is to get across to you my views on this great motorcycle and how it's treated me over my first year of riding in London. Hope you enjoy it and ask if you have any questions for me!

O.K. it's almost three years later but much respect on following in your grandfather's footsteps and keep it rubber side down brother .

I think I’m going to buy this bike tomorrow. Bit daunting choosing a bike with such little experience and no test drives, but I think this bike will be great for me and this review is reassuring.

Looks lovely!rems me of my first125 back in 77!!it was a Suzuki ts 125!still riding, at 57, got a few bikes now, mainly BMW for long trips, but will be getting a 125 soon just to potter about the back lanes over winter!your bike looks ideal!👍😀

I've been looking at them since they were launched a few years back now as a second bike. I like the retro style, but I would prefer a 250cc and Mutt did sell a limited number a while back. I'm now considering the Herald 250cc Rambler as it is a descent looking bike for £3500. You will notice a huge difference with your new Street Twin, they are nice also. Good video mate as there aren't many on YT. :)

Good job Nick! I saw one of these for the first time on a London layover . The design really grabbed my attention...

They have mutt mongrels 250 version now.

the issue is that you can get the same thing from an importer for just shy of 2 grand and the 250 versions at over 4 grand are competing with honda / ktm and other main brands.

Got the Mondial HPS 125 and I love it, but thinking about buying one of these as well.

Looking at the difference between the mongrel and the mastiff I just bought, fuel injection rear disk brake the seat on the mastiff is very hard but goes well with a scrambler, and the knobbly tyres one thing I did notice for a 125 is very quick on acceleration as long as you fire it through the gears, clocks are fantastic with the digital display plus it deals with the weather bad weather with no issues.
Faults I find the seat takes in water through the fancy stitching plus there's literally no padding more like a wooden plank, the suspension is almost solid, gear change indicator tends to lock but who needs one just a gadget.
What I'm a bit confused over is the use of solid plastic brake pipes on moving parts such as front forks and rear swing arm, I see the pipes fracturing in time with sunlight and movement but had experience with brake loss before in the past so no problem to me but still BF Goodridge pipes would have made more sense other than that, love the little bike its more fun than any big bike I own.

Great looking bike, I'm thinking of getting either one of these or the AJS Cadwell.

I’d like one of the 250s here in sunny Oz. They look cool and would be lovely to go down the beach in summer. Just have to convince the wifey.

Nice bike. There is a Thai bike manufacturer called Stallions which makes a range of bikes much like this using Chinese parts like this manufacturer does. They do 125, 250 and 400 models. My favourite is the Stallions CT400 Scrambler. In Europe I believe these bikes are called Mash.

I just love little bikes, I have an MT09 and 07 and where I ride I cannot use one this small but these are beautiful.

Just been looking at these and the new model is fuel injected, so even better! Absolutely stunning bikes and right on our doorstep in Birmingham too.
Great review though, definitely helping to swing it for me

Thanks for the video! How long did you end up having it for and how many miles did you too? Any major issues with it?

Always interested in acceleration and top speed with these light bikes

I'm 6ft and 129kg...would this suit me? I want a bike but i am a new rider and just passed my A1..I want a 125 and I'm being drawn to these old school looking 125s and the mutt is my favourite!

I must say I've been looking at these as a little comuter for work and the occasional bit of green laneing, that said I think the hanway scrambler is my current choice because it has better front suspension and a stainless exhaust, plus better tires for green laning, that said as tempting as it is I'm thinking of getting my bike licence and getting one with a bit bigger of an engine lol
