REWIND: “Control Issues': When the Mountain Doesn’t Move

Games like "Control" can be incredibly entertaining as well as thought-provoking, as we consider the convenience of possessing the abilities of the main character in the game to LITERALLY move mountains with their mind... obstacles can be destroyed, hurled at adversaries, or even re-purposed as shields to provide protection rather than obstruction. As a young believer in Christ, I had mental images similar to the concepts from "Control" as I read Bible stories about Peter walking on water (temporarily) or finding enough money in the mouth of a caught fish to pay taxes… now THAT’s a miracle I wouldn’t mind seeing somewhere in the vicinity of April 15th each year.

But as both the literal and figurative mountains in my life seemed to be quite content with remaining in place despite my prayers for them to MOVE, I started to wonder if I was doing it all wrong. Sometimes the people I prayed for would still die… sometimes the situations in my life didn’t improve, and sometimes they even got worse. So it’s time for some answers... join us as we explore the hidden reason why there are times in our lives that these mountains don't move.
