How to Frontside (FS) 180 - Beginner Skate Trick Tutorial

Come skate with me and learn how to do a frontside 180 as a beginner skater in this how to skateboard tutorial. FS 180’s are so much fun to learn! You can also learn how to FS 180 pretty quickly as it’s the next easiest popping trick to learn after the Ollie. It’s crucial you know how to Ollie if you want a solid and clean frontside 180.

I recommend learning the FS 189 before the BS 180 as it’s easier to rotate for most. The backside 180 can be more scary/intimidating as you have to restate blind to do it. With the frontside 189 body positioning you’re simply opening up your shoulders and keeping your eyes focused in the direction you’re heading. For some though, the BS 180 is a more natural skateboard trick than the frontside 180. It was not for me as I still struggle with backside 180’s.

lol I love this trick! I’m just finally starting to get it down. My hips and shoulders are having a hard time getting in sync 😝. I always open up my shoulders but my hips and legs won’t turn all the way. Definitely getting close to riding away from one though
