Awesome. Lancaster was always a favorite of mine. Up there with Bogart. Ruth Roman was in a very famous ship collision. A real ship collision. Andrea Doria and the Stockholm. People were killed although the Stockholm made it to port. Noir alright.

One of the best noirs I've seen for a while. I thought the ending was good and showed growth in the Burt Lancaster character. Joan Fontaine's changing response to Lancaster was subtle and touching. He was no innocent victim but by the end of the film he deserved a break. Robert Newton was perfect.

The flaccid ending hurts Kiss the Blood Off My Hands, but it's otherwise quite interesting and absorbing. It's the leads, really, Lancaster and Fontaine, who carry this modest thriller. Few actors convey vulnerability the way Fontaine does, and Lancaster's athleticism serves him well.
