Why the Jaguar F-Type V6 S is the BEST sub-£40k used sports car | Vlog review

You’ve just under £40k to spend on a used sports car. What do you go for… Porsche 911? Toyota Supra? How about a Jaguar F-Type V6 S? This brawny British two-door is one of the prettiest, best-sounding and nicest-handling cars of any class. For under £40,000, it feels like tremendous value for money – and you’re not forced to buy an older, higher miles car, either. Not on cinch, anyway...

Does that make the F-Type V6 S the thinking person’s way into a life of excitement and pizzazz? Sam certainly thinks so; as you might gather from watching our first ever Vlog review.

I got my V6 S a month ago. And I very much enjoy the f type. The sound, the looks, the drive. Everything about it is art. I feel special on the road surrounded by a sea of many other predictable cars.

The pre facelift looks so much better! They ruined that front end

My 2015 Jaguar F-Type V6 S is my daily driver. I couldn't be happier with it. I bought it with 19, 000 miles from CarMax. With a five year warranty.

These really are great cars, I've owned a V6S as my daily for the past 12 months. Even one of the early examples at £30-35k can provide that special connection with Jaguar's sports car heritage in a modern package with all the fun you need. Do your research, decide which options are important for you, and find the car to suit, you will be glad that you did. I've driven most of the competition at this price point (including Porsches and Maseratis) and whilst each has its particular strengths, I'm still pleased I opted for my F-Type V6S, it ticks all the boxes and puts a smile on my face every time I climb aboard. Well done Jaguar, and thank you.

Looking at buying this exact car here in NZ and this video is awesome. This car can be had for 50kNZD here now (2024) with 50-60k kms/35k-ish miles. How are prices tracking in the UK? Thank you. Great job, very well done. You're a natural.

The V8 is next level. The V6 is a great car, but it’s never going to get into the 2s. The V6 uses the same block as the V8, so the weight difference is only 180 lbs. in fact the RWD V8s are lighter than the AWD V6s.

I have owned my F type V6 for 18 months, it's a stunning looking car and stands out from every angle, white with black 20" wheels, pushing 400 Bhp, I love the car and hope to keep it for a very long time.

Great review. This guy should be reviewing on a proper automotive review site. Carbuyer could definitely do with him.

I last summer picked up a V6S CONVERTIBLE with a brilliant spec...replaced my 911 c4s(996). This drives very much like that as a heavy steering and very sharp responses. The exhaust note makes me smile all day :-)

Nice video! Couldn't agree more. Have the identical car to the one tested, but with LHD. Still in love with it.

Really enjoyed your video and fully agree with you. I had a double take when I first saw the car as it is identical to mine, only I have the manual gearbox. They do tick all the boxes for me, and the RWD keeps you on your toes.

I owned a v6s about 4 years ago and loved it but now v8 f types are well under 40k I wouldn't even hesitate. V8 is a million miles better over the v6 which is why I sold mine.
