I have a single ESX host running 6.7u3 as I'm still holding off on migration to 7. Its comprised of a dual socket configuration consisting of two e5-2680v3's and 196gb of run of the mill ECC. Its based upon Supermicro and housed in a corresponding 4u chassis accommodating a couple of raid arrays. Some mechanical, some solid state. There will also be a Supermicro disk shelf below that which interfaces with the host which is entirely mechanical SAS. I personally opted for HP ProCurve networking as thats what I'm professionally accustomed to, but there is a catalyst switch racked in there should it be needed for something. Theres an APC UPS. With an expansion battery block that needs new packs before I configure it that way. I'd like to move away from a full rack and look into a ventilated half rack in the future to clean up and consolidate the operation. Looking forward to what you have planned.

Haha great i love that, We´ve got nearly the same setup: Speaking of a HP Procurve2610G a Cisco Catalyst2950 and a HP Gen 380p :D :D
