Timing Chain Replacement VW Golf TSI 1.4

Had a rattle sound from the timing chain when starting the car. Timing chain was stretched as shown in the video.

I can tell you from my own experience that the timing chain will last a maximum of 15 thousand kilometers if the pinion on the crankshaft is not replaced. Otherwise a great video. Best regards from Germany.

The part you started the engine at 53:44, the tapping sound 3 seconds from start I have that too, I thought my car needs changing of the chain tensioner, but after you’ve changed the chain and tensioner, it still produces that sound. So I’m guessing that tapping sound at start is normal?

thx for the video very educational! what do you think can someone with zero experience do this following your guide step by step? I put some machines together but I never done cars before. Would be nice if I could do my own maintenance and save some big bucks.
