Показать описание
The first plane in the world that were driven by a jet engine is the Heinkel He 178. The air entered through the nose in the front, was then directed to the engine, was burned and left the aircraft through the tail. Because engines still work today according to that principle, let's examine the engine of the He 178 and its working principle.

Contents
1) Airbreathing jet engines
2) Working principle of the Heinkel He 178
3) Axial compressor and centrifugal compressor
4) Ignitor plugs and self-sustaining combustion
5) Difference between turbojet and turbofan
6) Compressor wheels (rotors) and stators
7) Combustion chamber and the fuel injection system
8) Working principle of turbofans

I wish I had a professor like you, please do more videos ... Don't stop, I am showing this to my younger cousins.
Plus till now I didn't know the bypass airflow was responsible for most of the thrust.
Thank you.

Very interesting. I always thought turbo fans and turbo jets were the same thing.
Once again! Great educational videos!

your voice is foreign to me but very soothing at the same time

it's very interesting that 80% of the thrust comes from air that is simply compressed, not ignited

One thing that I have wondered is that how does the air interact with the engine, how does momentum shift from the air to the engine? Is it that the pressurised air "pushes" on the turbines and fans and that is how the force is transmitted to the engine and to the whole plane?
