I think they should of gone with this as the whole film for the sequel. Watched it with my kids a few months back. And felt all the young actresses captured the characters and the magic of the old film perfectly. And would of been an interesting take to see them grow through the movie. As people using the dark arts for pranks. Lead to full blown villainy and evil.

I have to say the townsfolk are very melodramatic. They act as if the worlds gonna end, just because Winnifred, said one simple “No”. A spider falls on traskes arm and he gets hysterical.

I understand why the Sanderson Sisters detested those Puritans so much.
The Puritans were so strict, it was extremely difficult for anyone to try to live everyday life. It was also a time when women didnt have much rights.
The Sanderson Sisters felt more liberated when they became aware of the power that they have.

I like how young Winnie stands up for herself against anyone who refuses to understand her feelings and the choices she makes. I also refuse to marry someone and become a bride. I prefer to stay single for the rest of my young life and a carefree time like a special kid I really am, even in a grown-up's body. Same as Peter Pan, I don't want to grow up and get old as a hag with loose skin and lots of wrinkles in the face. Bleh! Yuck! I hate being old. And like a fairy or a good witch with lovely magic, I wish to stay strong, young, and beautiful forever.
