If you were going to run these through a slab floor or a brick or concrete wall would they need to be inside some larger pipe or conduit. Very nice to the point videos, thanks.

Another cool video ... so I'm inferring you guys do not have copper piping at all ... just plastic and lead?

Thanks for a great video. Can I ask - are the inserts always needed? I have read that "Most water utilities say they are not needed."

Can I ask an odd question but will this pipe or a 20mm pipe work to make an arch for a cloche for a raised bed.

Thank you

As a gas fitter, if I was to be fitting a whole new central heating combi system(there hasn't been many of them due to the climate)I would have no quarms whatsoever in using plastic or this type of pipe for CH Pipes, though the pipe going into the rad valve I would still use copper.

Superb video, thanks for sharing it.
I don't suppose you know if you need a pipe insert for the older black 25mm MDPE? Seems like a smaller hole than the new blue stuff...

Hi there are these fittings more secure then compression kinds from plasson and philmac. Every plumber I spoke to said always use compression for below the ground fittings but i don’t understand why not these

I assume it's the same issue in the UK - here in the states, I replaced the entire basement plumbing runs with 1/2" and 3/4" (13mm / 19mm) PEX pipe; bought it in 15m coils to save money, but after installing a number of straight/parallel runs (exposed, not hidden i a ceiling), the pipe wants to stay curved, even after relaxing the curl as much as I could. It makes the job look horrible!  Since then I've purchased 3m straight sections only.  Any tips for straightening a curl, or should I stick with straight pieces for exposed work, and coil for in-wall?

if you're a gas fitter you should know that MDPE is used for running mains to buildings or to cwsc tanks, not for any other purpose especially CH pipes.

Hello, Can I use this mdpe pipe outside for a cold water pipe run to my air and water machine on my garage with foam insulation to protect from frost and bursting in cold winters? Also I am thinking of using 20mm mdpe what mm foam insulation would best for it? 9mm?13mm? 0r 19mm for foam thickness?

Thanks for anotherbrilliant video! Just wondered if you can offer some advice : we have a stop tap on roadside from which an old pipe comes under the wall to a small stop tap on our side which is leaking. The pipe from here is just copper and i'd like to replace the leaking stop tap and copper pipe with MDPE. The incoming pipe looks like iron because it's quite rusty. We had a quote to replace everything with MDPE but it's a bit steep and I was wondering if I can simply cut the iron pipe our side then use a Philmac MDPE Universal Transition Coupler? Sadly I can't easily remove the iron pipe because it's very deep on the roadside. Appreciate your advice, , keep up the great work mate!

Hi Ultimate Handyman, I have a tricky situation at my property. I have lead pipe upto my property which was my previous kitchen. Now that I have extended my kitchen to the rear of the property, I have no other option but to run the pipe round the property through the outside wall. Hence can you please suggest to me what type of pipe is better to avoid pipe burst in freezing weather and also is 22mm pipe advisable as my previous pipe installation after the stop cock was 15mm pipe. Thanks

you can lay it in a concrete floor or screed, but you need to run it in a chase in the floor as per BS6700

Hello sir I've just replaced the whole length of pipe from the kitchen to the mains, from the front of the house to the water meter I've used blue 20mm mdpe, underneath the house from the front to the kitchen I've used 15mm pex shrouded in the old 20mm pipe. I now need to connect the 15mm to the 20mm how does one go about that, what is the best thing to use what push connecter do I need.
